Introduction
You can access the preferences from the main screen and all the main options of jv16 PowerTools can be set in the preferences.

Sections
Main
Flat scroll bars - Specifies whether you want the scroll bars to be with 3D effects or not.
Grid Lines - Specifies whether you want to see lines between each item to help you to read the lists.
Grid Lines in Advanced View - Specifies whether you want to see lines between each item in Registry Tool's Registry Cleaner if you use the advanced view.
Start as: Normal window - This options starts the program as a normal window and by default it shows the main screen.
Start as: Tray Icon - This option starts the program as an icon to the tray (next to the clock in the lower right corner of your screen) and you can access all the same functions as from the main screen just clicking the icon.
Console Pre-Filter: None - Disabled the filtering in the console
Console Pre-Filter: First letter upper case - Converts the first letter you write to upper case.
Console Pre-Filter: Capitalize All Words - Converts the first letters of all words you type to upper case.
Console Pre-Filter: eLiTe STyLE - Converts all consonants to upper case and all vowels to lower case.
Advanced
Column Policy: Size automatically (method 1) - Sizes the columns automatically. The size is determined based on the amount of data.
Column Policy: Size automatically (method 2) - Sizes the columns automatically. All columns will be same size and the amount of data doesn't matter.
Column Policy: Size manually - You can define the column size.
Default file viewer - Default file viewer is the program you want to be used for viewing text files, such as the content of a backup file. By default it's the Windows' Notepad.
Default Date Format - This option defines the default date format. jv16 PowerTools will format every date information based to this setting.
More advanced
Save Windows' positions - Saves each windows' so when you next time use it it will show up to the same place where it was when you closed it.
Register .jvb as a jv16 PowerTools batch file - Allows you to run jv16 PowerTools batch files (.jvb files) from anywhere by just double clicking them.
Don't pop up Registry Cleaner - If enabled the Registry Cleaner won't do anything when the scan completes, if disabled the Registry Cleaner is popped up (if it's minimized) when the scan is completed.
Save user defined sort styles - Saves each tool's each section's sort style so that next time you use it the data will be sorted just like the last time you used it. You can sort data by clicking the Columns.
Disable splash screen - Specifies whether to show the blue startup screen when the program starts.
Automatically show the main window - Specifies whether to show the main window when you close the tool you used. If enabled the main window is shown, if disabled the program will close.
But not if started with command line - If you start the program with command line so that it shows only e.g. the Registry Tool. If checked the program will close when you close the Registry Tool, if not checked the main window is shown when you close the Registry Tool.
Full row select - If checked you can select items by clicking the line, if not checked you must click the check box to select an item. This option doesn't affect tools which don't use check boxes, such as the File Tool and the Backup Tool.
Colour blind mode - If checked, the symbols by the check boxes in the Registry Tool are better suited for colour blind people.
Double buffered windows - Allows smoother show of the windows. This might cause some problems, such as flickering, with some video cards but in most cases checking this option ensures smoother graphics in the program.
Conservative error message policy - If checked the program will only show critical and important error messages, if not checked the program will show all error messages.
Allow users to list user accounts - Specifies whether to show the list of users in the login window.
No confirmations in the Backup Tool - If checked you won't see any extra confirmation when you try to remove backups.
No confirmations in the File Tool - If checked you won't see any extra confirmations in the File Tool.
Maintenance
Flush logs - Removes all log files from \jv16 PowerTools\Log\ directory.
Flush temp - Removes all temporarily used files in \jv16 PowerTools\Temp\ directory.
Flush age data - Resets the age settings you have made in the Registry Tool.
Flush comments data - Removes all the comments you have added in the Registry Tool.
Optimize cache - Optimizes the programs internal cache structures.
Uninstall jv16 PowerTools - Totally removes jv16 PowerTools from your computer. Please notice that everything is removed, including the backups.
Shortcuts
jv16 PowerTools supports user-definer keyboard shortcuts. You can modify them in here. The commands you can use are the same console commands you can use everywhere, you can see the list from here.
Tools Menus
jv16 PowerTools supports user-defined menus in the Registry Tool, File tool and in the Backup tool. You can modify the items in here. The commands you can use are the same console commands you can use everywhere, you can see the list from here.

Language
jv16 PowerTools supports a true multi-lingual use. This list contains the list of available languages. You can change the language by selecting it from the list and clicking the upper "OK" button.

You can translate jv16 PowerTools to your language quite easily. Just open "English.lng" in your favourite text editor (such as Notepad), follow the instructions and start to translate.
